- High-rise access. A lot of moves in Crystal City, Tysons, and downtown Silver Spring involve a reserved freight elevator and a protected loading dock on a window the building books ahead. That coordination eats genuine minutes, and the crew shows up with corner guards and floor runners ready to keep the shared corridors clean.
- Stairs and walk-ups. A three-story Alexandria townhouse, or a third-floor walk-up in an older Arlington fourplex, ties the crew up on the steps longer than a single-level condo would. You won’t see a stair charge anywhere on our sheet — the climb just shades the figure.
- Distance from one suburb to the next. A move staying within the District prices lower than a run out to Gaithersburg, over to Reston, or down to Fairfax. That windshield time across the Beltway and over the river crossings is built in from the outset, never added on after the fact.

Since the climate-controlled storage is ours, that same crew can empty your old place, look after your belongings for days or weeks, and then bring them over the moment you give the green light. - Winter, January into March. Quiet season, the lowest the rates get, and the schedule is yours to pick from — just keep the walk from door to truck clear and salted if a freeze or a snow event sets in.
- The spring shoulder, April and May. Demand starts climbing as the weather warms, but weekday slots are still open for the taking.
- Summer, June through August. Top of the curve. Federal PCS moves, families relocating before the school year, and apartment-lease turnovers all converge, and Saturdays vanish first — give us a couple of weeks, three ideally, of lead time.
- Early fall, September and October. The summer crush eases off and conditions become ideal for a DMV move: cooler, drier, dependable weather. This stretch is tough to top.
- Late year, November and December. Away from the holiday crunch the calendar opens up and rates stay low — just keep one eye on the forecast, because an early ice event can tangle up the Beltway and the river crossings.

Can the amount change once the truck’s loaded?
No. You pay the number printed on your quote, full stop. The sole exception: if what we actually load on the day is far more than what you walked us through at pricing time.
What’s included in that flat figure?
Crew labor, the truck and its fuel, the dollies and hand tools, floor runners, stretch wrap, and the moving blankets are all in there — not one of them comes back later as a separate add-on charge.
How is the estimate put together to begin with?
We take stock of your belongings (room count, the bulky pieces, the carton total), review each end of the move (how far the drive runs, whether there are stairs, what parking or permits are needed, and any freight-elevator scheduling), and factor in the time of year.
